Providing Multi-Sport and Learning Opportunities in Your Community

Pelican Park Community Trust (Friends of Pelican Park) are a not-for-profit organisation and registered Charity (1161532),  whom have come along way over the years.  Friends of Pelican Park became a constituted group in 2009, with members of the community coming together to improve much needed sports facilities at Pelican Park Recreation Ground.  In 2015 the Charity were granted a 25-year lease from Hull City Council and are now responsible for improving and developing 12.9 acres of green space.  There is a real need to protect green spaces within the City and improve sports facilities for people of all ages to use, get active, stay fit and improve their health and well-being. The aim is to increase the number of families, children and young people taking part in regular sporting activities to help improve their general health and well being, working in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association, East Yorkshire Cricket Board and East Riding County FA.

Pelican Park Community Trust have now moved into new facilities boasting 2 x large changing, toilet, shower facilities for teams, 2 x smaller changing, shower, toilet facilities, main office, meeting room/training room, cafe, kitchen, storage and plant room. With a £260,000 investment, the community now have facilities to be proud of and use on a regular basis. Many schools in the area also use the facilities, providing multi-sport activities, sports days, tennis tournaments, football competitions, team building sessions and much more!
